We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Psychologist to join our integrated Mental Healthcare team at HMP Gartree, a Category B prison, based in Leicestershire. The site supports males ages 21+ with a high proportion of patients aged over 40. Within this role you will have a fantastic opportunity to develop the Psychology services on site working alongside the experienced integrated mental health team including an established Psychotherapist. This role would be suitable for an experienced Psychologist who is familiar with adult mental health presentations, neurodiversity, and historic trauma. Suitable applicants must be familiar with trauma informed approaches and enjoy working as part of a team.

Hours

3 days a week, between Monday to Friday

Salary

This is a part-time role working 22.5 hours per week, offering an annual salary of up to £67,340 per annum FTE depending on experience.

What you'll be doing

As a qualified, HCPC registered Psychologist, your responsibilities will vary. You will:

  • Offer clinical support and oversight to the Integrated Mental Health Team (IMHT) in the form of training, supervision, and reflective practice
  • Undertake psychological assessments and support complex multi-disciplinary formulations
  • Deliver and oversee the delivery of 1:1 psychological interventions and group intervention as part of the Trauma Informed 'Making Sense' Programme
  • Deliver teaching and training to healthcare and prison staff where required
  • Contribute to the development of audit, service evaluation, and research profile as appropriate

Requirements

  • Qualified clinical, counselling, or forensic psychologist
  • Registered with the HCPC
  • Postgraduate qualification/training in at least one specific mode of psychological therapy relevant to people with severe and long-standing mental health difficulties
  • Experience of providing evidence-based psychological interventions
  • Experience of working in multidisciplinary teams and work with trauma-informed practice
