Senior Python Developer
We are seeking an experienced Senior Python Developer to join our agile software development team. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in software engineering, with a strong emphasis on functional testing and bug fixing, and be ready to contribute to a long-term, large-scale engineering project.
Key Responsibilities
- Development, testing, commissioning, release, and support of large-scale projects.
- Participation in a collaborative environment, working both independently and as a team player.
- Troubleshooting issues methodically and improving software development processes.
- Applying test-driven development and integration testing techniques.
- Utilizing modern software collaboration and development tools such as GitLab/GitHub, JIRA, CI/CD platforms, and containerized environments.

Minimum Requirements
- Notable experience in a software engineering environment, preferably in an engineering development project with a strong software focus.
- Experience developing software for distributed systems, instrumentation, or hardware-integrated systems.
- Experience with containerized deployment environments, Kubernetes, Helm/Helmfile, and CI/CD practices.
- Strong proficiency in Python programming.
- Technical knowledge of Linux operating systems (system administration experience is a plus).
- Experience contributing to the architecture and development of large-scale software systems.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

Desired Requirements
- Experience with asynchronous control systems.
- Familiarity with Tango Controls, EPICS, or similar distributed monitoring and control systems.
- Quality assurance processes and willingness to participate in software quality procedures.
- Awareness or experience using AI-assisted software development tooling.
- Self-training and up-skilling capabilities.
