About the Client
Our client is an ambitious, venture-backed technology scale-up building the next generation of distributed compute infrastructure for data-intensive applications. They're tackling some of the hardest problems in modern software engineering—creating a platform capable of orchestrating, processing, and distributing massive workloads across globally distributed systems with exceptional speed, resilience, and scale.
Their technology sits beneath mission-critical platforms where performance isn't a nice-to-have—it's the product. Every day, their infrastructure processes billions of events, coordinates thousands of distributed workloads, and enables customers to build applications that simply wouldn't be possible using traditional architectures.
This is a company built by engineers, for engineers. The culture is deeply technical, with a relentless focus on clean architecture, distributed systems, performance optimisation, and solving genuinely difficult problems. You'll work alongside people who love debating system design, experimenting with new technologies, and squeezing every last drop of performance from complex software.
As they continue to scale rapidly, they're investing heavily in building a world-class engineering team to create infrastructure that will power the next generation of cloud-native applications. If you enjoy designing systems that operate at serious scale and solving problems that few engineers ever get the opportunity to tackle, you'll feel right at home here.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
Graduate Consultant — 2026 Scheme
Why you're a good match
StrongYour economics background and your summer at a regional bank line up with what PwC looks for on the consulting scheme. Applications close in four weeks.
See breakdownIt searches the market for you
Every day your agent scans the market matching roles against what actually matters to you, not just keywords on a CV.
Why you're a good match
You’ve got the grades and the economics background, and your bank internship is exactly the experience this scheme looks for. Apply soon — deadlines close within the month.
Experience fit
Your summer at the bank plus your econometrics coursework map directly to the day-one responsibilities on this scheme — client modelling, market briefings, and deal support.
Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
The Role
They're looking for a talented Python Software Engineer to help build the core platform powering their highly distributed compute infrastructure.
You'll be working on the engine room of the business—designing and developing the distributed services responsible for workload scheduling, compute orchestration, resource allocation, and large-scale data processing across cloud-native environments.
This is far more than backend API development. You'll tackle complex engineering challenges around distributed systems, fault tolerance, concurrency, observability, and large-scale infrastructure, helping to build software that remains reliable even as workloads grow exponentially.
Working closely with experienced platform engineers, infrastructure specialists, and product teams, you'll contribute to the design of systems that process enormous volumes of data while maintaining exceptional performance, resilience, and efficiency.
The engineering team embraces modern software practices including clean architecture, automated testing, continuous deployment, and a strong culture of ownership. Engineers are trusted to make technical decisions, experiment with new ideas, and influence the long-term direction of the platform.
