As part of the strategy around GoCompare's acquisition by Future we have replatformed our domain around an API first, cloud based serverless architecture. This is part of our plan to broaden the scope from the GoCompare brand and become the leading PCW service.
What You'll Be Doing
As a Senior QA Automation Engineer, you will partner closely with the Lead QA to evolve and execute our overarching Test Strategy. Embedded within a cross-functional engineering Squad, you will champion quality from day one, driving the creation of robust automated test suites to support our PCW platform and services.
We continually champion a "shift-left" philosophy. Reporting to the Tech lead, you won't just test software at the end; you will drive early conversations with Product Owners and developers to define acceptance criteria and test coverage before a single line of feature code is written. You will be the squad's go-to expert for automation best practices, code reviews, defect identification, and end-to-end data integrity.
Experience That Will Put You Ahead Of The Curve
Core Mobile QA & Automation Expertise
- Mobile Automation Champion: Solid, hands-on experience building mobile test suites and maintaining automation frameworks for iOS and Android using modern JavaScript/TypeScript tools (e.g. Appium, WebdriverIO or Maestro). You know how to handle native selectors, deep linking and mobile-specific gestures
- API, Backend & Network Testing: Proven ability to test the APIs powering mobile apps. You can write SQL queries, utilize tools like Postman and simulate real-world mobile network profiles (throttling, offline mode, flaky connections) to ensure backend integrations are resilient
- Mobile CI/CD & Device Cloud DevOps: An understanding of Git, Azure DevOps, and Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery pipelines tailored for mobile. You have a clear vision of how automated mobile testing integrates into build pipelines, including experience running tests across real-device clouds (e.g. Test Mu AI, BrowserStack, SauceLabs, etc.)
- Awareness of Asynchronous Architecture & Mobile State: Conceptual or hands-on understanding of message queues like Service Bus. Mobile apps frequently handle asynchronous actions, caching and background syncs - understanding how to validate asynchronous events when an app is offline, backgrounded, or pushing notification events will put you ahead of the curve

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
