Senior QA / Test Engineer | Financial Trading Platforms | London (Hybrid) | £60,000 + Bonus
I’m assisting a financial-services specialist in hiring an experienced Senior QA / Test Engineer to drive quality improvements across complex, business-critical trading systems.
An ideal candidate will have deep testing expertise within trading platforms, exchanges, or regulated financial environments, with a passion for developing testing strategies, expanding automation frameworks, and ensuring stability across integrated systems.
About the Role
You’ll be joining a highly technical environment where reliability, accuracy, and quality are non-negotiable. This role focuses on ownership over testing quality, working collaboratively with developers, product teams, and stakeholders in an Agile framework.
Key Responsibilities
• Drive QA strategy for trading and financial-services applications • Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks • Build and maintain comprehensive regression suites across multiple systems and services • Conduct targeted testing, including integration, API, database, performance, and end-to-end testing • Ensure the stability and timeliness of regulated software releases • Enhance automation coverage across the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) • Collaborate with developers, product teams, and stakeholders to refine processes and deliver high-quality software • Identify risks early to prevent production failures in business-critical trading systems

Requirements & Experience
• 10+ years of experience in QA, software testing, and test automation • Strong familiarity with trading platforms, exchanges, or regulated financial systems • Preferable experience gained in buy-side live trading or financial-services environments • Expertise in integration testing across multiple systems, applications, and services • Hands-on experience in:
- BDD (Behaviour-Driven Development) and TDD (Test-Driven Development)
- Tools like Cucumber, JUnit, and TestNG
- Automation frameworks such as Selenium, RestAssured, or Postman
- API, database, performance, and end-to-end testing methodologies • Experience working in Agile/Scrum-based delivery environments • Strong technical confidence in Java, JavaScript, and Spring Boot projects
