Senior QA Engineer - United Kingdom
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior QA Engineer based in United Kingdom.
This role is a key quality ownership position embedded directly within a fast-paced, product-driven engineering environment where QA is treated as a strategic function rather than a gatekeeping step. You will be responsible for ensuring every release meets high standards of performance, reliability, and user experience across web, mobile, and API-driven systems. The position blends hands-on manual testing with advanced automation work, requiring strong technical depth and a product mindset. You will be involved across the full development lifecycle, from requirement review and test planning through to release validation and continuous improvement. The environment is highly collaborative, encouraging QA engineers to challenge assumptions, influence product decisions, and improve engineering quality practices. This is an opportunity to directly shape how products are delivered, tested, and scaled in a modern engineering organization.
Accountabilities
- Own end-to-end quality assurance across web, mobile (Android/iOS), and API platforms, ensuring all releases meet functional, performance, and reliability standards before deployment.
- Design, write, and execute detailed test plans, test cases, and test reports aligned with product requirements and acceptance criteria.
- Develop and maintain automated test suites for web, mobile, and API systems using modern testing frameworks such as Selenium, Playwright, and Appium.
- Conduct manual testing including functional, integration, regression, exploratory, and performance testing to validate real-world user scenarios.
- Identify, log, track, and analyze defects using debugging tools and collaborate closely with engineers to ensure timely resolution.
- Improve CI/CD pipelines and test automation coverage by integrating tests into build and deployment workflows using tools such as Jenkins and cloud-based infrastructure.
- Participate actively in requirement reviews, design discussions, and sprint ceremonies, ensuring features are testable, clear, and aligned with quality standards.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
