Senior Quality Advisor

Senior Quality Advisor – Infrastructure Team

About the Role

Murphy is recruiting for a Senior Quality Advisor to join our growing Infrastructure team, delivering a major water infrastructure project in partnership with United Utilities as part of the AMP8 programme.

Murphy is a long-standing delivery partner to leading water clients across the UK and Ireland, including Thames Water, Severn Trent, Northern Ireland Water, Yorkshire Water, SES Water, Bristol Water, South East Water, and Uisce Éireann, where we operate over 25 facilities under full DBOM contracts.


A Day in the Life of a Murphy Senior Quality Advisor

  • Be a champion for the "Quality – Right First Time" initiative.
  • Establish and promote best practice in quality matters in conjunction with the Quality function.
  • Ensure that all personnel are aware of their statutory duties and responsibilities, and provide advice as needed.
  • Support site management teams to ensure compliance with all requirements stipulated in Quality Plans.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits of sites and workplaces to verify that work is carried out in accordance with Company Policy, Procedures, and stated requirements.
  • Review internal and supply chain partner Inspection and Test Plans.
  • Promote the reporting of nonconformances, manage, and provide advice on closing out actions.
  • Collate and review Business / Contract Quality statistics in a timely manner and submit to the Quality Management and Quality function for reporting.
  • Analyse Quality statistics to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Develop and implement Quality campaigns and improvement plans in agreement with Quality Management.
  • Support Project teams in the development of Quality Plans.
  • Producing Quality plans, procedures, and documentation and verify compliance.

Requirements

Essential Experience & Qualifications

  • Experience in a Quality role.
  • Relevant Quality Membership (e.g., CQI).
  • "ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor or Internal Auditor qualification" desirable.
  • Proficiency in MS package knowledge (e.g. Outlook, Excel, Word, Visio, MS Project).
  • Strong understanding of ISO 9001 requirements.
  • Previous experience in an Engineering or Construction environment.

Desirable Qualifications & Roles

  • Chartered Quality Professional – Member (CQP MCQI).
  • Real-world experience in quality assurance, compliance monitoring, and improvement strategies.
