Senior Software Engineer in Test, SDET, QA Automation, Linux, DevOps, Risk Systems, Risk Ops, SFT, Margining, Clearing, AI Tools, Java, Cucumber, Gherkin, Financial Services

Sponsorship is NOT available

Salary: £80,000 to £90,000 Base + Benefits + Bonus

Hybrid Role: 3 days per week in the London office from September, 4 days per week post-December - occasional travel to Europe


Overview:

My client, a highly dynamic European based Financial Services institution specialising in Clearing and Post-Trade Services, is looking to hire an accomplished Senior Software Engineer in Test (QA).


Responsibilities:

  • Working on multiple projects related to Cash Equities and SFT
  • Collaborating closely with Risk Systems and Risk Margining teams
  • Acting as a subject matter expert for QA Automation and Test Frameworks for the Risk platform
  • Participating in the production support rota (2 weeks per month), which requires Linux skills

Desired Skills:

  • Detailed experience as a QA Automation specialist on Risk Systems, ideally within the Clearing and Post-Trade Services sector
  • Strong understanding of Margining (VM, IM, Collateral) and market data from a QA perspective
  • Experience with Risk Systems and liaising with various Risk teams
  • Detailed experience as an SDET, with the ability to enhance Test frameworks built in Java/Cucumber/Gherkin
  • Technical skills: JIRA, Confluence, Gitlab, Unix, Oracle, Java, Cucumber, Gherkin, SQL, Linux, overall Software Engineer in Test skills
  • Background in Production Support (Linux skills are essential)
  • Experience with AI tools (like Claude) to build and enhance Test Automation frameworks
  • Agile/DevOps experience
  • Test planning and running different test phases – all phases of the Test Automation cycle
  • Product knowledge within Cash Equities/Capital Markets/Clearing is highly regarded
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills plus the desire to work in a highly dynamic fluid culture
