Senior Manual Mobile QA Engineer
Burgess Hill, West Sussex, United Kingdom – Hybrid - 3 days on site - candidate must be located in commutable distance
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Senior Manual Mobile QA Engineer to join a leading global financial services organization. This is a 100% hands-on Manual QA role focused on native iOS and Android applications. We're looking for someone who enjoys exploring features, identifying edge cases, designing comprehensive test scenarios, and delivering exceptional mobile experiences—not simply executing predefined test cases.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform manual testing of native iOS and Android applications.
- Design and execute comprehensive test cases covering functional, regression, integration, exploratory, accessibility, and usability testing.
- Identify edge cases, negative scenarios, and business rule validations.
- Validate REST APIs using Postman and Charles Proxy.
- Test applications on physical iOS and Android devices across multiple OS versions and network conditions.
- Log, track, and manage defects using JIRA.
- Collaborate closely with Developers, Product Owners, and QA teams in an Agile environment.
- Support feature validation, regression testing, and production releases.

Required Skills & Experience
- 5+ years of Manual QA experience
- Strong experience testing native Android and iOS mobile applications
- Experience testing on physical mobile devices
- Strong understanding of functional, regression, integration, exploratory, usability, and accessibility testing
- Ability to design detailed positive, negative, boundary, and edge-case test scenarios
- Good understanding of Boundary Value Analysis, Equivalence Partitioning, and Error Guessing
- Hands-on experience with Postman, Charles Proxy, and JIRA
- Experience validating REST APIs
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills

Preferred Skills
- VoiceOver, TalkBack, and WCAG accessibility testing
- Firebase App Distribution or TestFlight
- Git/GitHub
- Jenkins or CircleCI
- Experience using AI tools such as ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, or Gemini
- Exposure to Appium, Selenium, Espresso, or XCUITest
