With a mission to build the world's best technology to help people get credit and save money, Lendable has established itself as a leader in innovative financial solutions. The company has rapidly grown to become one of the UK's newest unicorns, boasting a team of just over 700 talented professionals. Recognized as one of the fastest-growing tech companies in the UK, Lendable has been profitable since 2017 and is backed by top-tier investors including Balderton Capital and Goldman Sachs. The company is highly regarded by its customers, with an impressive 4.9-star rating across thousands of reviews on Trustpilot. Lendable has successfully rebuilt core consumer finance products such as loans, credit cards, and car finance from scratch, enabling swift fund disbursement within minutes instead of days. The organization is focused on expanding into major Western markets like the UK and US, targeting trillions of dollars in financial products currently managed by traditional banks with outdated systems and processes. Lendable values ownership, innovation, and building the best-in-class technology, leveraging new data sources, machine learning, and AI to streamline financial services and enhance customer experience.
About The Role
We are seeking two experienced Senior Quality Engineers to join our Mobile team at Lendable. In this role, you will be instrumental in ensuring the high quality and reliability of our flagship mobile application, Zable, which serves as the primary interface for most of our customers to access loans, credit cards, car finance, mobile plans, subscriptions, and upcoming products. The app is built using React Native and TypeScript, with a Kotlin backend, and is deployed on both iOS and Android platforms from a single codebase. As we scale rapidly, we aim to elevate our quality engineering practices to support faster release cycles without compromising stability. This role is automation-first, emphasizing writing code for test frameworks, CI tooling, and helpers rather than manual testing. You will collaborate closely with software engineers, product managers, and designers to set the strategic direction for mobile quality, integrating AI-assisted testing workflows to accelerate test authoring, failure analysis, and coverage insights. Your expertise will help us maintain a robust testing environment, reduce flakiness, and ensure that our releases meet the highest standards of quality and trustworthiness.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Qualifications
To succeed in this role, candidates should possess at least 6+ years of experience in quality engineering or test automation, with a proven track record of maintaining stable automated testing suites. Strong proficiency in TypeScript and JavaScript is essential, including building helpers, tooling, and debugging within the app. Experience with Appium, device farms, or emulator/simulator orchestration at scale is required, along with hands-on experience with Maestro or Detox automation frameworks. Candidates should have a solid understanding of shaping CI/CD pipelines for test reliability, including flakiness reduction, parallelization, and artifact management, preferably using GitHub Actions or similar tools. Familiarity with mobile E2E automation, or substantial experience in E2E testing on other platforms with a credible plan for mobile adaptation, is important. The ability to operate independently, drive end-to-end improvements, and collaborate effectively across teams is crucial. Desirable skills include testing React Native apps, mobile performance optimization, API and contract testing, native mobile fundamentals (Swift or Kotlin), and prior experience with AI-assisted testing practices, including test generation and failure clustering.
Responsibilities
- Own the mobile test strategy by defining and evolving a pragmatic test pyramid tailored for React Native applications, balancing between end-to-end, component, and unit testing for optimal coverage and speed.
- Establish and uphold standards for what constitutes a "ready to ship" mobile release, ensuring reliability and quality benchmarks are consistently met.
- Create and maintain comprehensive E2E automation suites using Maestro, including test data management, device configuration, helpers, and reporting mechanisms.
- Integrate automation suites into CI pipelines (using GitHub Actions), providing rapid and trustworthy feedback on pull requests and release candidates to facilitate continuous delivery.
- Drive efforts to reduce flakiness and improve root-cause analysis, treating flaky tests with the same rigor as broken tests to maintain test suite integrity.
- Leverage AI tools to accelerate test authoring, failure analysis, and coverage insights, while establishing guardrails and review processes to ensure trustworthiness.
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams during the design and development phases, advocating for shift-left quality practices, early risk identification, and clear acceptance criteria.
- Utilize observability tools such as Datadog, Sentry, and Grafana to analyze production issues, correlate them with test coverage, and inform quality improvements.
- Conduct targeted exploratory testing on high-risk releases when necessary, balancing automation with manual insights to prevent defects proactively.
