Location: MOD Boscombe Down – UK’s longest military runway, home to aviation and aerospace testing, evaluation, and support services.
Role Details
Contract Type: Permanent Hours per Week: 37 Minimum Attendance: Five days per week Note: Flexible working arrangements available.
Working Relation: You’ll report to the Production Manager, ensuring:
- Sustaining quality of product output across all production activities
- Maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements
SC Security Clearance Required: Minimum security clearance is mandatory.

Responsibilities
Your day-to-day duties include:
- Inspecting components (Electrical, Mechanical details, and assemblies) against design data and work instructions
- Documenting manufacturing records and test results
- Conducting final sign-off of components/assemblies via:
- Part 21 Form 1
- AS9100 Compliant Final Certification (COFC)
- Supporting audits and ensuring closure of any resulting corrective actions
- Assisting the Production Manager with continuous improvement initiatives
- Raising engineering queries for deviations from design requirements

Essential Experience
To excel as a Senior Quality Inspector, you must have:
- Proven experience in a Part 21G-regulated aviation industry
- Experience within a regulated quality environment
- Hands-on experience in performing testing requirements such as:
- Hardness testing
- Conductivity checks
- Tensile and heat treatments
- Proficient measurement skills using standard and calibrated measuring equipment
Key disciplines:
- Quality Management (demonstrated experience required)
Essential Qualifications
To meet our minimum standards, you should hold:
- HNC (Higher National Certificate) in Engineering, or
- Direct experience working in aviation manufacturing and production planning
Certification:
- CAA/EASA Part 21G Production Organisation approval course completion
