About your team

Fidelity Systematic Investing (FSI) brings together our systematic capabilities across Quant, Equity, Fixed Income and Multi-Asset to deliver solutions to clients. Building a common infrastructure and operating platform to respond to the changing industry landscape and evolving client needs while leveraging Fidelity’s research platform.


About your role

We are seeking an experienced quantitative equity investor to play a leading role in the development, management and growth of Fidelity's systematic equity capabilities globally. The successful candidate will combine deep expertise in equity factors, portfolio construction and implementation with strong commercial acumen, leadership skills and the ability to engage confidently with institutional clients.

This is a highly visible role within the organisation, responsible for shaping the future direction of our systematic equity platform, driving innovation through the use of proprietary data and advanced quantitative techniques, and helping to grow the business through client engagement and thought leadership. The individual will work closely with investment teams, Portfolio Engineering, Technology, Sales & Distribution, and senior stakeholders across the firm to deliver differentiated investment solutions and exceptional client outcomes.


Investment Leadership & Portfolio Management

  • Drive the design, development and ongoing enhancement of systematic equity investment strategies across global markets.
  • Take ownership of research, implementation and monitoring of production portfolios, ensuring robust investment processes and strong risk-adjusted outcomes.
  • Drive innovation in factor investing, portfolio construction, optimisation, risk management and sustainability integration.
  • Identify and evaluate new sources of alpha through the application of proprietary datasets, alternative data and advanced quantitative techniques.
  • Oversee the evolution of existing models and investment capabilities, ensuring they remain competitive and scalable.
  • Partner closely with Portfolio Engineering and Technology teams to ensure efficient implementation and operational robustness of systematic strategies.
  • Provide strategic input into the long-term development of Fidelity's quantitative equity platform.

Client & Commercial Leadership

  • Act as a senior representative for Fidelity's systematic equity capabilities with institutional clients, consultants, prospects and industry participants.
  • Lead client discussions on investment philosophy, portfolio construction, performance, risk and implementation.
  • Support business development efforts by collaborating with Sales, Marketing and Distribution teams to articulate the value proposition of our systematic investment capabilities.
  • Contribute to asset growth by helping clients design customised systematic solutions and portfolio implementations.
  • Represent Fidelity at industry conferences, client events and thought leadership forums.

Research & Thought Leadership

  • Lead high-impact research initiatives that advance Fidelity's systematic investment capabilities.
  • Publish white papers, research articles and investment insights for both internal and external audiences.
  • Stay at the forefront of developments in quantitative investing, machine learning, artificial intelligence and portfolio construction methodologies.
  • Help establish Fidelity as a recognised thought leader in systematic equity investing.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Mentor and develop quantitative researchers and portfolio managers across the team.
  • Foster a culture of intellectual curiosity, collaboration and research excellence.
  • Provide leadership across global teams and contribute to strategic decision-making within the systematic investment platform.
  • Build strong relationships across Equities, Multi Asset, Technology, Risk, Distribution and senior management functions globally.

About you

  • Extensive experience in quantitative equity investing, with a proven track record of developing, implementing and managing live systematic equity portfolios.
  • Deep expertise in equity factors, portfolio construction, optimisation techniques, risk modelling and performance attribution.
  • Strong understanding of systematic investment implementation, including capacity management, transaction cost modelling and execution considerations.
  • Demonstrated experience applying proprietary, alternative and/or AI-driven datasets within investment processes.
  • Experience leading research programmes that have resulted in successful investment outcomes and production portfolio enhancements.
  • Significant client-facing experience, including presenting to institutional investors, consultants and senior investment committees.
  • Track record of contributing to business growth through client engagement, solution design and thought leadership.
  • Experience leading teams, mentoring investment professionals and influencing senior stakeholders across an organisation.
  • Established reputation within the quantitative investment community through published research, conference presentations or industry participation.
  • Strong programming capabilities, preferably in Python.
  • Strategic thinker with strong commercial judgement and entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Highly collaborative leader who can influence across investment, technology and distribution functions.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex quantitative concepts into clear investment insights.
