Senior Quantity Surveyor – Major Highways Infrastructure | Exeter
A leading Tier 1 contractor is seeking a commercially astute Senior Quantity Surveyor to join the delivery team on a major highways infrastructure programme in the Exeter region.
Reporting into a Project Manager/Commercial Manager, you'll take ownership of all commercial aspects of your project section, protecting financial performance and contractual position while building strong relationships with clients and supply chain partners.

- Lead commercial management across highways works, safeguarding contractual and financial position
- Manage procurement, subcontract tendering, evaluation, and appointment
- Prepare valuations, invoices, cost reports, forecasts, and cash flow
- Oversee change control – identifying, valuing, and recovering variations and compensation events
- Administer subcontracts including payments, instructions, re-measurement, and final accounts
- Monitor cost, risk, and opportunity to drive commercial efficiency
- Mentor junior commercial staff

Requirements
- Strong civil engineering / highways commercial background
- Excellent working knowledge of NEC contracts
- Confident negotiator, comfortable challenging and influencing stakeholders
- Track record in subcontract procurement and commercial reporting
- Collaborative, values-driven approach
