The Company
Our client is a specialist main contractor delivering some of London's finest prime and super-prime residential refurbishments. Built on a reputation for exceptional craftsmanship, attention to detail and collaborative working, they deliver beautifully crafted projects from concept through to completion, working alongside leading architects, interior designers and private clients. Their projects are synonymous with quality, innovation and meticulous execution.
Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team.
The Role
Reporting directly to the Commercial Director, you will take commercial responsibility for 2-3 live projects at any one time, ranging in value up to £4 million. You'll work closely with Project Managers, Site Managers and the wider delivery team to ensure projects are commercially successful while maintaining the exceptional standards expected within the prime residential sector.

You'll join a close-knit commercial department consisting of three Quantity Surveyors, with the support of an Assistant Quantity Surveyor who can assist with project administration, procurement and measurement where required.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to work on technically challenging, design-led projects where quality is prioritised over volume.
Responsibilities
- Manage the commercial delivery of 2-3 refurbishment and fit-out projects simultaneously.
- Full cost management from procurement through to final account.
- Prepare and manage project budgets, cost plans and forecasts.
- Produce monthly CVRs and commercial reports.
- Procure subcontractors and negotiate subcontract agreements.
- Assess, negotiate and agree variations.
- Value subcontractor applications and prepare payment notices.
- Monitor project costs, cash flow and commercial risk.
- Prepare and submit client valuations.
- Manage final accounts with both clients and subcontractors.
- Identify value engineering opportunities without compromising quality.
- Work closely with operational teams to ensure projects remain commercially on track.
- Mentor and support the Assistant Quantity Surveyor when required.
- Build strong relationships with clients, consultants and subcontractors.

Requirements
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor within a main contractor.
- Experience delivering high-end residential, luxury fit-out or refurbishment projects.
- Able to commercially manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong knowledge of procurement, valuations, variations and final accounts.
- Excellent contractual and commercial awareness.
- Strong communication and client-facing skills.
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline (preferred).
- Full UK driving licence (preferred).
