Senior Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Lead: Retail CAT A Fit-Out

Rate: GBP400:GBP475 (DOE)
About The Role
We are seeking a heavyweight Senior Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Lead to take financial control of a high-profile Retail CAT A Fit-Out project in Central London. Operating on a Design and Build (D and B) framework, this role requires a sharp commercial mind capable of leading the project from inception through to final accounts, ensuring maximum profitability while maintaining exceptional client relationships.
As the Commercial Lead, you will have full autonomy over the project's commercial delivery, managing sub-contractor procurement, variations, and final account negotiations.
Key Responsibilities
- Commercial Leadership: Act as the primary commercial point of contact, leading all financial aspects of the Design and Build retail project.
- Financial Control: Manage CVRs, cash flow forecasting, cost reporting, and final accounts.
- Procurement: Oversee sub-contractor procurement, commercial negotiation, and contract finalization.
- Change Management: Robustly manage variations, scope changes, and provisional sums.
- Client Liaison: Build and maintain strong relationships with the client, architects, and project stakeholders, ensuring clear communication regarding commercial progress.

What We Are Looking For
This is a specialized role requiring a specific track record. To be considered, you must possess:
- Retail Sector Expertise: Extensive, demonstrable experience managing commercial delivery within the retail sector.
- CAT A Fit-Out Experience: A proven track record of successfully delivering CAT A fit-out projects.
- Design and Build (D and B) Mastery: Deep understanding of D and B contracts, risk management, and procurement routes.
- Senior/Lead Capability: Experience acting as the sole Commercial Lead or Senior QS on projects valued upwards of GBP5m+.
- London Based: Ability to work on-site and in the office in London as required.
