Senior Quantity Surveyor
Senior Quantity Surveyor
Location: Daresbury, Cheshire
We are seeking a talented and motivated Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our growing Digital team in Daresbury. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key commercial role in delivering high-quality performance across critical engineering projects.
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will:
- Manage commercial activities across diverse projects
- Support project delivery
- Build strong client relationships
Key Responsibilities
- Build strong working relationships with clients through clear communication, structured meetings, and accurate documentation
- Manage and maintain commercial registers, including:
- Variations management
- Early Warning notifications
- Prepare and submit interim payment applications and final accounts, resolving client queries efficiently
- Generate accurate sales invoices and commercial documentation in compliance with contracts
- Ensure contractual compliance across all projects, including:
- Notification and pricing of additional works and variations
- Preparation of Early Warning notifications per contractual obligations
- Provide support to Project Managers and Business Leads on:
- Monthly Contractor Value Reporting (CVR)
- Cash flow forecasting
- AFC (Contractor Accounts) updates
- Monitor Work in Progress (WIP), support project commercial audits, and develop productivity analyses to enhance project performance
- Work within varied project environments, both independently and collaboratively

Skills, Experience & Qualifications
Experience:
- Minimum 3 years in a Quantity Surveyor role
- Familiarity with construction or engineering contracts (e.g., NEC construction contracts desirable)
- Exposure to industries including FMCG, Pharma, Food & Beverage, Utilities, Chemical or Process (desirable)
Qualifications:
- HNC (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying or related discipline
- Preference for candidates with professional qualification accreditation (e.g., MRICS)
Technical:
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel advanced skills preferred)
- Experience using CEMAR or similar project control/tools
- Competence in financial systems (e.g., SAP, Sage, Oracle, IFS)
Soft Skills:
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Strong organisation, commercial awareness, and negotiation
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
