Senior Quantity Surveyor
📍 Location: London (Hybrid)
💼 Contract Type: Permanent
💰 Salary: £65,000 – £90,000 + Car Allowance + Bonus
About the Role
We're looking for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our commercial team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a commercially-minded QS to take ownership of cost management and commercial delivery across complex infrastructure projects, working alongside multidisciplinary teams to drive value and mitigate risk.
We welcome applicants with backgrounds spanning water, energy, rail, utilities, nuclear, or general civils/infrastructure - what matters most is strong commercial acumen and a track record on complex, high-value schemes.
What You'll Be Doing
- Managing the full commercial and cost lifecycle of works packages, from procurement through to final account
- Preparing and agreeing valuations, applications for payment, and cost forecasts
- Identifying, evaluating, and negotiating variations and change control
- Supporting subcontractor procurement, including tendering, appointment, and management
- Producing accurate cost reports and forecasts (CVRs) for senior stakeholders
- Managing commercial risk and supporting dispute avoidance/resolution
- Mentoring junior QS team members and supporting their development
- Ensuring compliance with contract terms (NEC3/4, JCT, or similar)

What We're Looking For
- Proven experience as a Senior QS within a major infrastructure, engineering, or construction environment
- Background in one or more of: water, energy, rail (including HS2), utilities, nuclear, or infrastructure sectors
- Strong working knowledge of NEC3/NEC4 (or equivalent) forms of contract
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related field
- RICS membership (MRICS) or working towards chartership desirable
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Right to work in the UK
