Senior Quantity Surveyor
Summary
We are looking for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a leading commercial team working on Sprint Phase 2 – a major highways upgrade project in Birmingham. This £22m scheme focuses on improving the A45 corridor, including road structure enhancements, new bus stop installations, and better routes for buses and cyclists. This role is ideal for a commercially minded professional with strong NEC contract expertise who is seeking to take ownership and lead within a dynamic infrastructure project.
Salary
£61,000 – £68,000 per annum, plus car or car allowance (£4,700).

Responsibilities
- Lead internal and external commercial reporting processes, including client-facing applications.
- Provide day-to-day leadership to the commercial team and ensure robust commercial procedures.
- Oversee administration of NEC contracts, primarily Option C (target cost), with knowledge across other NEC forms (Options A, B, D).
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, internal stakeholders, and on-site teams.
- Support and mentor junior colleagues, ensuring team capability and continuous development.

Must-have Requirements
- Strong experience in highways or comparable infrastructure projects.
- Proven ability in administering NEC contracts (Option C highly desirable).
- Degree-qualified in a relevant discipline.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to mentor junior team members.
- Excellent commercial knowledge with confidence in reporting and client communication.
Nice-to-have Skills
- Experience across multiple NEC contract options (A, B, D).
- Broad understanding of highways project commercial management.
