Title

Senior Quantity Surveyor

A career at KBR can change the world — and change your life. If you’re ready, let’s get started.

The KBR team of teams delivers future-forward science, technology and engineering solutions and mission-critical services that help governments and companies around the world accomplish their most important objectives, while also helping achieve their sustainability goals.

About The Role

The Senior Quantity Surveyor supports construction project delivery by monitoring progress through the measurement and evaluation of installed quantities against approved plans and baselines. The role integrates quantity tracking, forecasting, and estimate loading with cost and performance metrics, contributing to value engineering, cost-benefit analysis, and feasibility assessments across labour, materials, and execution strategies. Working under general direction, the position applies specialised project controls knowledge to interpret complex issues, maintain accurate MTO data from IFC drawings, and support informed decision-making. The role also provides guidance to less experienced team members while ensuring delivery is aligned with organisational policies, procedures, and business objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor construction progress through detailed measurement and evaluation of installed quantities against approved plans and baseline estimates
  • Maintain and update quantity take-offs and material take-offs (MTOs) based on Issued for Construction (IFC) drawings to support accurate progress tracking
  • Develop and maintain forecasting models, including estimate loading and cost projections aligned with project schedules and delivery milestones
  • Perform cost-benefit analysis, value engineering assessments, and feasibility studies to optimise labour, materials, and execution strategies
  • Analyse variances between planned and actual quantities and provide insights to support corrective actions and commercial decisions
  • Contribute to project controls reporting by integrating quantity, cost, and progress data into standard reporting deliverables
  • Interpret internal and external project issues, applying technical expertise to develop practical solutions and best practices
  • Coordinate with cross-functional stakeholders including engineering, planning, and commercial teams to ensure data consistency and alignment
  • Provide guidance to less experienced team members and support prioritisation of workload across project deliverables
  • Support compliance with company policies, procedures, and project governance frameworks in all quantity surveying activities

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
