A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Quantity Surveyor to join a leading infrastructure contractor delivering major utility and energy projects across the North West.

Working as part of an established commercial team, you'll support the financial and contractual management of multiple projects, helping to maximise commercial performance while building strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and operational teams.

This role would suit a Quantity Surveyor looking to develop their career on long-term infrastructure frameworks with excellent progression opportunities.

The Role

Reporting to the Senior Quantity Surveyor and Commercial Manager, you'll support the commercial management of projects from inception through to final account, ensuring accurate cost control, reporting and contract administration throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the commercial management of utility and infrastructure projects
  • Produce and maintain CVRs, cost reports and financial forecasts
  • Support subcontract procurement and commercial management
  • Administer subcontract accounts from award through to final account
  • Manage compensation events, variations and change control
  • Prepare and submit applications for payment
  • Monitor project costs, cash flow and commercial performance
  • Support the management of project risks and opportunities
  • Review and administer NEC contracts
  • Assist with the agreement of final accounts with clients and subcontractors
  • Provide commercial support to project and operational teams
  • Contribute to tender reviews and pre-construction commercial activities where required

About You

Essential

  • Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor within a contractor environment
  • Strong commercial awareness and understanding of cost management principles
  • Experience producing CVRs, forecasts, valuations and cost reports
  • Working knowledge of NEC contracts
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to manage your workload and prioritise effectively
