Role: Senior Quantity Surveyor

Location: Greater Glasgow Area | Hybrid Working (3 Days Office-Based)

Sector: Energy, Utilities & Power Infrastructure

Turner Lovell are recruiting on behalf of our client, a leading EPC contractor delivering complex infrastructure projects across the UK and internationally. Operating within sectors including power, utilities, data centres, and other mission-critical environments, our client has built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality engineering solutions on major projects.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a growing commercial team supporting the delivery of high-voltage infrastructure projects, including substations, switchgear installations, and cable systems.

The Role

Reporting into the commercial leadership team, you will take responsibility for the commercial management of projects from delivery through to final account, ensuring strong financial performance while maintaining contractual compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage project budgets, forecasts, profit plans, and Bills of Quantities (BoQs).
  • Prepare and submit valuations, payment applications, variations, and final accounts.
  • Administer NEC contracts and ensure contractual obligations are met.
  • Manage subcontractor accounts, valuations, payments, and final account settlements.
  • Monitor and assess project changes, remeasurements, dayworks, and compensation events.
  • Produce accurate commercial reports and provide updates to project stakeholders.
  • Identify and escalate commercial risks and opportunities.
  • Work closely with project delivery and planning teams to ensure accurate progress and cost reporting.
  • Maintain clear and comprehensive commercial documentation and records.
  • Support commercial negotiations with clients and subcontractors where required.

Requirements:

  • Qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or a related discipline.
  • Evident previous experience in a Quantity Surveying position within infrastructure, utilities, engineering, or power projects or civil engineering schemes, or other safety-critical sectors such as aviation, rail or highways.
  • Strong working knowledge of NEC3 contracts.
  • Experience managing subcontractor accounts and contract administration.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and commercial reporting tools.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
