Senior Quantity Surveyor (Major Projects Division)
Location: Sevenoaks, Kent Type: Permanent, Full-Time
As part of our successful Major Projects division, we are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead commercial activities, provide expert advice, and empower decision-making across our major projects portfolio. This senior role will be based at our Head Office in Sevenoaks, Kent.
About the Role
Join our commercial team as a Senior Quantity Surveyor, where you will:
- Embrace a leading role in contract risk, value management, and cost control, driving tangible benefits for projects.
- Lead and drive procurement strategies, conduct cost/value analysis, and engage in sub-contractor procurement.
- Stay updated with current contract types (JCT, ICE, NEC) and ensure adherence to latest legislation and document controls.
- Monitor and report forecasts against cost and value, while overseeing cash flow management.
- Oversee the commercial team on assigned contracts while supporting their professional growth.
Responsibilities
- Conduct risk, value and cost analysis to support contract profitability and efficiency.
- Develop and implement established procurement frameworks for industry-leading outcomes.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and relevant contractual documentation.
- Maintain financial transparency through Forecasting, cash flow tracking, and reporting.
- Coach and mentor junior commercial team members, fostering their development.

Key Skills & Experience
- Proven senior-level experience in construction, civil engineering, or highway engineering.
- Degree in Quantity Surveying (or equivalent) – essential.
- In-depth expertise in JCT, ICE, and NEC contract interpretations.
- Safeguarding on-site competence: CSCS card is mandatory.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and people-management skills.
