Role description:
We are seeking a Senior Cost Consultant/ Quantity Surveyor to work in a multi-disciplinary team on major commercial, residential (all classes) and mixed-use developments. Our ideal candidate will be responsible for managing all pre and post contract commercial aspects of a project, ensuring that budgets are considered and maintained as design and project aspirations are developed. The pre-contract service delivery will include team leadership, producing estimates, cost benchmarking reports and cost plans and undertaking due diligence through to tendering and contract collation and execution. Post contract, you will be required to undertake project contract administration, financial reporting and control and final account agreements.
The role will include working in a specialist property team, and the successful candidate will be fully supported and trained where necessary. This is a great opportunity for an individual looking to progress their career and work on some of the largest residential-led and commercial projects in London and the Southeast with nationally recognised developers.

Role accountabilities:
Responsibility for full or part delivery of cost consultancy services (prime and affordable residential all classes, hotels, office, commercial, sports and leisure, retrofit, etc.) to budget, quality and time metrics through all RIBA stages including:
- Pre-contract cost and viability advice
- Post contract valuations, change control and cost reporting
- Cost planning, estimating and final account negotiations
- Procurement and contract advice
- Claims analysis
Undertake timely and accurate data collection, support analysis and preparation of reports;
Work within established financial systems and project objectives to prepare cost schedules and track budgets, highlighting variances in order to manage and control project delivery targets;
Management of any project cost risks or issues to ensure the project is not adversely impacted;
Support analysis and review a range of data to identify key themes and trends and use the outputs to produce recommendations that support project decision-making;
Interact effectively across the organisation, completing professional level tasks for others to ensure projects/programmes can be delivered to meet client expectations.
Qualifications & Experience:
Relevant experience including cost management of projects or aspects of projects ranging from £40m to £80m+;
Industry relevant degree or qualification;
MRICS;
Knowledge of the JCT suite of contracts;
Understanding of the NEC suite of contracts preferable;
Good communication skills, including the ability to liaise with peers and senior colleagues and build and maintain relationships;
