Senior Quantity Surveyor – Civil Engineering & Infrastructure Contractor

About the Company

You will be joining an award-winning and multi-accredited civil engineering and infrastructure contractor based in Tamworth, renowned for delivering high-quality projects safely, on time, and within budget. This multi-sector and agile contractor operates across a diverse portfolio of public and private sector infrastructure projects, offering career progression and professional development opportunities.

Due to continued growth and a robust pipeline of work, the company is actively seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their Central region team in a full-time permanent position, with hybrid and flexible working based at their Tamworth office.


Your New Role

As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in the commercial management of infrastructure and civil engineering projects, ensuring financial performance is maximised while maintaining the highest standards of project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage project costs and commercial performance from inception to completion
  • Administer and manage contractual obligations and commitments
  • Produce and manage cost value reconciliations (CVRs), forecasting, and cost planning
  • Provide value-engineering opportunities to support project teams in identifying inefficiencies
  • Build effective relationships with:
    • Clients
    • Suppliers
    • Subcontractors
    • Internal stakeholders
  • Deliver accurate commercial analysis, reporting, and financial oversight across projects

Requirements

To thrive in this role, bring:

  • A Degree/HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying (or equivalent statutory qualification) or experience equivalent to this level
  • Requirements-specific experience that includes:
    • Heavy civils sector experience
    • Proficiency in working with the NEC form of contract
  • Proven expertise in:
    • CVR (Cost Value Reconciliations)
    • Cost planning
    • Forecasting
  • Strong stakeholder management (building relationships with project stakeholders and influencers)
  • Organisational, analytical, and reporting skills
  • A full UK driving licence
