Your new company You will be joining a well-established and highly respected civil engineering contractor based in Birmingham recognised for delivering high-quality infrastructure projects across the Midlands. This multi-accredited contractor is well-known for their commitment to quality, safety and innovation as well as valuing its people and investing in their professional development. They have a strong pipeline of work, offer excellent opportunities for career progression and, as part of their continued growth, they are actively seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team.

Your new role As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will take commercial responsibility for a significant element of a major heavy civils scheme in Warwickshire. You will ensure robust cost control, risk management and commercial performance throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Full commercial management of a large-scale civil engineering project
  • Preparation and management of budgets, forecasts and cost value reconciliation
  • Procurement and management of subcontractors and supply chain partners
  • Administration of contracts, variations, valuations and final accounts
  • Supporting and mentoring junior commercial staff
  • Working collaboratively with engineering, planning and site teams to drive value and mitigate risk

What you'll need to succeed In order to be successful, you will bring:

  • Degree/HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying (or similar qualification) or experience equivalent
  • Experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor within civil engineering and drainage delivery
  • Sound working knowledge of NEC form of contract
  • Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills
  • Experience managing subcontractors, commercial risk and project cashflow
  • Full UK driving licence
