Senior Quantity Surveyor – Leeds

Esh Civils delivers infrastructure schemes of all sizes, including major capital projects. We work in partnership with local authorities throughout the North East, Tees Valley, Yorkshire and the Humber to deliver a variety of projects, including public realm, highways, flood alleviation, active travel, and bridge works.

About The Role

We are looking for a skilled Senior Quantity Surveyor to provide expert financial & commercial management across a range of civil engineering projects within Esh Civils. This role is key to ensuring accurate measurement, valuation, and cash flow management, supporting the successful delivery of each scheme. Your contribution will help ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest commercial standards.

What We Will Expect From You

  • Preparation and submission of interim payment applications and project final accounts
  • Knowledge and experience in using civil engineering standard forms of contract, including NEC3 and NEC4
  • Notification of early warnings and playing a key role in risk reduction
  • Notification of compensation events
  • Assessing and submitting quotations for compensation events
  • Working together with the Esh project team to ensure that good quality & accurate site records are kept and maintained
  • Attendance at meetings with the Client Representatives as required
  • Production of project financial forecasts and reports in line with the company commercial reporting timetable
  • Subcontractor procurement and management – approval of subcontract orders and payments produced by other members of staff
  • Valuation, certification and approval of payments to Sub-Contractors
  • Mentoring the QS team in their personal development and in achieving company objectives

Qualifications

  • 10 years’ experience and a proven track record in the commercial environment
  • Ideally, an HND, degree, or equivalent is desirable
  • Competent in construction processes and procedures
  • Experience of Microsoft and office IT packages
  • Proven experience of working within different contract frameworks
  • Experience in working with contract documentation specific to the role
  • Comprehensive contracting and commercial skills
