Senior Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Manager
Commercial Manager / Senior Quantity Surveyor | Battery Storage & Flexible Generation | UK
Berkshire Talent Partnership is recruiting a Commercial Manager on behalf of a fast-paced, leading Independent Power Producer (IPP) at the forefront of the UK's energy transition. This is a business with real momentum — a multi-technology pipeline spanning battery storage, pumped hydro, green hydrogen, and flexible generation. Some of the biggest and most innovative projects in the UK and Europe are currently in development and construction.
The Role
As Commercial Manager, you'll act as the commercial and contractual guardian across major flexible generation projects, supporting delivery from design through construction and into operation. You'll track commercial risk, ensure contracts are watertight, and guide the supply chain with precision.

Commercial Reporting & Risk Management
- Produce accurate monthly commercial reports for the board and senior management.
- Advise on commercial risk profiles and develop allocation strategies.

Procurement & Contracting
- Lead procurement planning and contracting strategy.
- Work closely with external legal teams on head and subcontractor contract templates.

Supplier & Contractor Engagement
- Negotiate with the supply chain across all stages of contract execution.
- Manage client accounts, claims, and forecasts, resolving disputes proactively.

Contract & Stakeholder Oversight
- Summarise the commercial status of tenders and contracts for management.
- Work with Project Managers to integrate technical, programme, and commercial interfaces.
- Manage contract integration within CEMAR.
Requirements
- Strong contract negotiation experience on high-value, complex projects.
- Solid grounding in dispute resolution, including adjudication, arbitration, mediation, and litigation.
- Good financial and contractual awareness.
- A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with the ability to influence at all levels.
- Excellent organisation, planning, and reporting skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication.
- A flexible, adaptable approach to thrive in a fast-paced, ambitious culture.
