Senior Quantity Surveyor - Southern Water
We're looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our Southern Water team based in either Kent or East/West Sussex.
Location
Southern Water Offices, Chatham ME5 7QA or offices at Falmer, BN1 9PY - some remote working is available.
Hours
Full time hours are 40 per week - we will however, consider part time or condensed hours.
We are unable to offer certificates of sponsorship to any candidates in this role
About the Role
Southern Water is embarking on an exciting strategic partnership with Kier to deliver their ambitions for AMP 8 Water cycle. This is a rare opportunity to play a vital role in mobilising the projects across Southern Water's areas, providing commercial expertise to ensure successful project outcomes.
What Will You Be Responsible For?
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you'll be working within the Commercial Team, supporting them in managing the commercial, procurement and financial aspects of the Southern Water Strategic Delivery Programme. Your day to day will include:
- Managing commercial performance through effective team leadership, contract administration, and risk management
- Ensuring robust cost reporting and forecasting while maintaining excellent client relationships
- Supporting junior team members and fostering their professional development
- Collaborating with the procurement team to implement effective procurement strategies
- Maximising cash flow through diligent measurement, valuation, and financial control procedures

What Are We Looking For?
This role of Senior Quantity Surveyor is great for you if:
- You have a relevant degree or equivalent in Quantity Surveying
- You have experience working with NEC forms of contract and current Construction Law
- You're an excellent communicator who can build relationships with clients and colleagues alike
- You enjoy mentoring junior team members and sharing your expertise
- You thrive in collaborative environments while being able to work independently
