Location: Central London Salary: Up to £90,000 + Car Allowance + Travel Expenses + Performance Bonus Sector: Residential / Mixed-Use Development Project Value: £60m New Build Development

About the Role

An established and highly successful main contractor is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join its commercial team on a landmark £60m development in Central London.

With a strong reputation for delivering high-quality projects across the residential, commercial, hospitality and mixed-use sectors, the business continues to secure prestigious schemes throughout London and the wider UK. This opportunity offers the chance to play a leading commercial role on a flagship project while working within a supportive and ambitious environment that values career development and professional growth.

Key Responsibilities

As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will take ownership of the commercial management of key work packages and support the overall financial delivery of the project from pre-construction through to final account.

Working closely with the Commercial Manager, Project Director, and site teams, your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the commercial delivery of major subcontract packages
  • Developing procurement strategy and subcontractor selection
  • Managing contract administration and commercial compliance
  • Handling applications, valuations, and variations
  • Producing cost reporting, forecasting, and budget control
  • Identifying and mitigating commercial risks
  • Negotiating and agreeing subcontract accounts
  • Supporting and mentoring junior members of the commercial team
  • Producing monthly CVRs (Contractually Valued Reports) and commercial reports
  • Driving project profitability and commercial performance

About You

The successful candidate must demonstrate:

  • Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor (or an established Quantity Surveyor ready to step into a leadership role)
  • Strong main contractor background
  • Experience delivering residential, mixed-use, commercial, or hospitality projects
  • Excellent knowledge of construction contracts and commercial processes
  • Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple work packages independently
  • Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline (preferred)
  • A proactive and solutions-focused approach
