About the Role
We're looking for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead our commercial and pre-construction function across multiple projects, taking responsibility from initial enquiry through to final account.
Working directly alongside our Managing Director, you'll:
- Prepare estimates
- Manage procurement

- Keep every project commercially on track
You'll also provide leadership to our Project Coordinator, ensuring our commercial administration, procurement processes, and document control operate efficiently.
This is a broad, hands-on role for someone who wants more than a traditional QS position, with genuine influence over commercial strategy and a clear pathway to a future Commercial Manager role as Broad Construction continues to grow.

Commercial Management:
- Leading the commercial management of multiple projects, from pre-construction through to final account
- Producing budgets, cost plans, and monthly Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs)
- Forecasting cash flow and final accounts, and reporting commercial performance to the Directors

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
