A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a leading infrastructure contractor delivering major utility and energy projects across the North West.
Working as part of an established commercial team, you will take ownership of the financial and contractual management of multiple projects, ensuring commercial performance is maximised while maintaining strong client and supply chain relationships.
This role would suit an ambitious Senior Quantity Surveyor looking to work on long-term infrastructure frameworks with excellent career progression opportunities.
The Role
Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will be responsible for the commercial management of projects from inception through to final account, ensuring profitability, cash flow, risk management, and accurate reporting across your portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage project costs, forecasting, and commercial reporting
- Produce and manage CVRs, cost tracking, and financial forecasts
- Lead the subcontract procurement and management process
- Administer subcontract accounts from award through to final account
- Manage change control, compensation events, and variations
- Support project teams with commercial and contractual advice
- Prepare and submit applications for payment and manage cash collection
- Monitor project risk and opportunity registers
- Ensure accurate forecasting and reporting of project performance
- Review and administer NEC contracts
- Negotiate and agree final accounts with clients and subcontractors
- Contribute to tender reviews and commercial input during pre-construction stages
- Mentor and support junior commercial team members

Essential
About You
- Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor within a contractor environment
- Strong understanding of commercial management principles
- Experience managing CVRs, forecasting, valuations, and final accounts
- Knowledge of NEC forms of contract
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously

- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
- Experience within utilities, energy, power, civil engineering, infrastructure, or major projects
- Experience mentoring Assistant Quantity Surveyors or junior team members
- Professional membership or working towards chartership
