Senior Quantity Surveyor

KBR’s rapidly growing nuclear team of teams is working at the forefront of the UK’s nuclear space on some of the most exciting new-build, defence and decommissioning programmes.

Position Summary

Reporting to the commercial manager, providing commercial support and management to the project commercial team, ensuring all aspects of project contract administration are undertaken in a timely and accurate manner.


Key Responsibilities

  • Subcontract procurement & management, and general project commercial actions
  • Management & coaching of junior project commercial staff
  • Production and management of a procurement schedule
  • Delivery and accountability for the procurement of framework Subcontractors as well as internal and external project commercial targets
  • Engagement with project stakeholders

The Person – Accountabilities

  • Ensure the accuracy of data communicated and reported to all stakeholders
  • Ensure that procurement files are maintained to a professional standard
  • Ensure the project team provides key contract documents in a timely manner
  • Be the single point of contact for the supply chain during the procurement process
  • Highlight any current and potential issues to the commercial manager
  • Maintain compliance with approved processes, procedures, and project executive plans
  • Actively contribute to the continuous improvement of the functional quality and performance of Quantity Surveying
  • Work in compliance with the Collaborative Management Plan

Qualifications and Experience

  • Supervisory/management experience within a project commercial team
  • Knowledge and/or experience of the procurement / management of Subcontracts
  • BSc in a related subject or equivalent experience
  • Chartered membership to a recognised organisation (RICS or CIOB)—an advantage, but not essential
  • Excellent knowledge of commercial aspects of civil and infrastructure projects
  • Experience of a Contract Management System (CEMAR, etc.)
  • Capable of obtaining (or currently holds) UK Nuclear industry clearance
