Senior Project Surveyor
We're looking for a Senior Project Surveyor to join our Durham County Council NETPark team based in Sedgefield / Hebburn.
Location: Sedgefield / Hebburn
Hours: 40 hours per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.
We are unable to offer certificates of sponsorship to any candidates in this role.
Join us on an exciting major scheme for Durham County Council, delivering the third phase of a significant expansion at one of the UK's premier science, engineering, and technology parks. The £61m North East Technology Park (NETPark) will create up to 232,000 square feet of flexible laboratory, office, production and storage space. As Senior Project Surveyor, you'll work alongside the commercial lead, managing a large supply chain and ensuring excellent commercial outcomes are achieved throughout delivery to completion.
What will you be responsible for?
As a Senior Project Surveyor, You'll Be Working Within The Commercial Team, Supporting Them In Managing Cost, Risk And Value For Money Across This Major Project. Your Day To Day Will Include

- Managing applications for payment from sub-contractors and preparing client applications
- Negotiating with the supply chain to achieve best value and awarding work packages
- Monitoring actual expenditure against budgets through Cost Value Reconciliation Reports
- Ensuring all variations are properly costed and logged in line with contract conditions
- Mentoring and supporting more junior commercial staff
What are we looking for?
This role of Senior Project Surveyor is great for you if:
- You have experience working on commercial construction projects with strong knowledge of NEC and JCT contracts
- You've delivered high value projects ranging from £20M up to £100M within a Main Contracting organisation
- You hold a relevant degree, HND or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying
- You're confident dealing with client representatives, sub-contractors and internal stakeholders
- You hold a Full driving licence
