Senior Quantity Surveyor – Civil Engineering

Build the infrastructure that will shape Scotland's future.

Are you a Senior Quantity Surveyor looking for the opportunity to work on major civil engineering projects that genuinely make a difference?

We're looking for an experienced commercial professional to join a high-performing team delivering significant infrastructure projects across the West of Scotland. If you're looking for a role where you'll have real influence, work alongside industry experts and be part of projects that support Scotland's energy future, we'd love to hear from you.

Why this opportunity?

This is more than just another Quantity Surveying role. You'll take ownership of the commercial delivery of complex civil engineering projects, helping to drive performance from procurement through to final account while supporting the successful delivery of nationally important infrastructure.

The role offers a hybrid working arrangement, with approximately one day per week on site, making it suitable for candidates based anywhere across Central Scotland who can travel to site when required.

What you'll be doing

As Senior Quantity Surveyor, You'll Be Responsible For

  • Leading the commercial management of major civil engineering works.
  • Managing project costs, forecasting and financial reporting.
  • Procuring and administering subcontract packages.
  • Managing contractual risks, variations and change.
  • Supporting value engineering and commercial decision-making.
  • Working closely with project teams, clients and key stakeholders.
  • Mentoring and developing junior commercial professionals.
  • Ensuring commercial governance and reporting standards are maintained.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
