Location: Castleford
We are looking to appoint an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor (MEP) to join our Engineering team, supporting the successful delivery of major construction projects. This is a key commercial role responsible for managing the MEP commercial aspects of either a large project or several smaller projects, ensuring financial performance is maximised while effectively managing commercial risk.
Working closely with project, operational, and commercial teams, you will play a pivotal role in delivering successful project outcomes, managing subcontractor procurement, contract administration, and final accounts, while mentoring and developing junior members of the commercial team.
Key Duties
- Lead the commercial management of MEP packages, ensuring projects are delivered profitably whilst managing commercial risk and contractual compliance.
- Manage subcontract procurement, payment applications, valuations, final accounts, and cash collection in accordance with company procedures.
- Work collaboratively with project teams to monitor contract performance, manage change, resolve commercial issues, and support dispute avoidance.
- Produce accurate commercial reporting, forecasts, and cost analysis to support business performance and decision-making.
- Mentor and develop junior commercial team members, promoting best practice and supporting professional development.

About You
You will be an experienced MEP commercial professional with a strong track record of successfully managing the commercial delivery of live construction projects. You will bring:
- Extensive experience within the MEP sector, including subcontract procurement and final account negotiation.
- Strong working knowledge of NEC and JCT contracts, including Target Cost projects.
- Excellent commercial awareness with the ability to identify and manage project risk.
- Experience leading, mentoring, and developing commercial teams.
- A Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management degree (or equivalent), with professional membership desirable.
