Freelance Senior Quantity Surveyor
Hybrid Working | Leicestershire | Long-Term Contract | Outside IR35
Our client is a well-established civil engineering and infrastructure contractor delivering projects across a range of utility, infrastructure and construction sectors throughout the UK. With a strong reputation for quality delivery, collaborative working and maintaining the highest standards of health, safety and environmental performance, the business continues to secure repeat work from longstanding clients and framework partners. Due to a growing workload and a healthy pipeline of projects, they are now looking to strengthen their commercial team with an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor.
The Role
An opportunity has arisen for a Freelance Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a busy commercial team supporting the delivery of civil engineering and infrastructure projects.
Working on a hybrid basis, the successful candidate will take responsibility for the commercial management of projects from commencement through to final account, ensuring commercial performance, contractual compliance and effective cost control throughout the project lifecycle.

This position would suit an experienced Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor with a strong civil engineering background and a proven track record in the successful management of infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Commercial management of projects from award through to final account.
- Administration of NEC contracts.
- Preparation of cost reports, forecasts and valuations.
- Management of compensation events and variations.
- Procurement and commercial management of subcontract packages.
- Monitoring project costs and identifying commercial risks and opportunities.
- Producing accurate commercial reporting and documentation.
- Liaising with operational teams, clients and supply chain partners.
- Supporting the successful delivery of projects in line with commercial objectives.

Experience & Requirements
- Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor within civil engineering or infrastructure.
- Strong understanding of NEC contracts.
- Experience managing subcontract procurement and administration.
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or equivalent.
- Excellent commercial awareness and reporting skills.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple workstreams and deadlines.
