Job Title: Senior Quantity Surveyor
Location

Hours
45 hours per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.
About the Role
We are looking for three Senior Quantity Surveyors to join our KierBAM team based in Plymouth – Devonport Royal Dockyard. KierBAM is a Joint Venture partnership between Kier and BAM Nuttall, currently delivering an exciting redevelopment project at a Royal Navy site in Plymouth.
We're seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team and play a crucial role in managing all contractual and financial aspects of this significant construction project. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a high-profile development in a secure environment, where your expertise will directly contribute to the successful delivery of vital infrastructure.
What Will You Be Responsible For?
- Preparing detailed cost estimates, budgets and financial reports whilst conducting cost planning and control throughout the project lifecycle
- Reviewing and negotiating contracts, subcontracts and variations, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory standards
- Managing procurement processes, evaluating supplier bids and preparing interim and final payment applications
- Monitoring project progress, forecasting final costs and identifying potential financial risks
- Collaborating with clients, architects, engineers and contractors whilst mentoring junior team members

Requirements
This role of Senior Quantity Surveyor is great for you if:
- You hold a degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or Civil Engineering, with professional accreditation such as RICS or CIOB preferred
- You have strong experience in quantity surveying within construction or infrastructure projects, ideally within the nuclear or defence sectors
- You possess strong knowledge of construction contracts, procurement methods and cost control techniques, with proficiency in quantity surveying software
- You have excellent negotiation, communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build collaborative relationships across diverse teams
- You're able to meet eligibility criteria including holding a passport from a NATO or MISWG member country and having resided in the UK for the past 5 years for security clearance purposes
