About the role
We are seeking a Senior R&D Software Engineer to design, develop, and enhance advanced spectrum management and signal analysis solutions within the Keysight Spectrum Management Software (KSMS). This role focuses on developing high-performance software for RF spectrum monitoring, signal classification, and geolocation applications used by defense, telecommunications, and regulatory customers worldwide.
You will work at the intersection of software engineering, RF systems, and signal processing, translating complex technical concepts into scalable, production-quality solutions. This is a hands-on role involving full-stack software development, algorithm implementation, system integration, and evaluation of real-world RF environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain high-quality software for spectrum monitoring, analysis, and related wireless communications applications
- Architect and implement scalable, maintainable, and high-performance software systems using modern software engineering principles and best practices
- Design and build intuitive, responsive front-end applications and visualization tools for monitoring, analyzing, and managing RF systems and data
- Develop software components for data acquisition, signal processing, visualization, system control, and analytics across desktop and web platforms
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define system architecture, interfaces, and technical requirements
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex software issues spanning front-end, back-end, and hardware interfaces

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field
- Strong software development experience with modern C/C++, Python, shell scripting, experience developing full-stack applications using TypeScript for front-end development and Node.js/Express for back-end REST APIs
- Strong understanding of object-oriented design, functional programming, software architecture, and modern software engineering best practices
- Experience building scalable, maintainable, and well-tested software using version control, automated testing, and continuous integration
- Experience working with data-intensive, distributed, and real-time systems
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with spectrum monitoring, RF measurement systems and RF based geolocation techniques
- Experience developing and deploying cloud-based applications and services using modern cloud platforms and containerization technologies
- Experience applying AI/ML techniques, including deep learning or generative AI, to spectrum monitoring, signal analysis, automation, or related RF workflows
