About the Role

As part of Vestacy’s R&D organisation you work closely with all R&D brands around the globe to lead the development and deployment of advanced simulation capabilities, enabling faster, smarter and better product development.

This is a role which requires having in-depth technical knowledge, project leadership, partnership and communication skills.

Your Responsibilities

  • Define and lead the simulation roadmap for Vestacy R&D, establishing best practices, standards and workflows across FEA, CFD, packaging performance, AI-enabled design and other relevant simulation applications.
  • Partner with external experts and software providers to build and strengthen Vestacy's internal simulation capabilities.
  • Lead and execute simulation studies across structural analysis (FEA), computational fluid dynamics (CFD), packaging performance, blow moulding processes and emerging AI-enabled design technologies.
  • Translate simulation results into clear engineering insights and actionable design recommendations that maintain consumer relevance.
  • Validate simulation models against experimental data to ensure accuracy, reliability and credibility.
  • Integrate simulation into the early stages of product development to reduce prototyping cycles, identify failure modes proactively and optimise designs before tooling investment.
  • Drive product performance superiority, cost efficiencies and sustainability improvements through simulation-led design decisions.
  • Collaborate closely with Product Development, Engineering, Packaging and Supply Chain teams to support innovation and product development objectives.
  • Act as the key bridge between theoretical simulation modelling and practical real-world implementation across the business.

The Experience We're Looking For

Essential

  • Founder’s mindset with a hands-on, proactive and entrepreneurial approach.
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • Proven experience in non-linear Finite Element Analysis (FEA), including static, fatigue and impact simulations.
  • Proven experience in Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), including thermal analysis, airflow and fluid dynamics modelling.
  • Proficiency with simulation tools such as SolidWorks Simulation, ANSYS, Siemens or Abaqus.
  • Strong understanding of SolidWorks CAD, material behaviour, structural mechanics and fluid dynamics principles.

Preferred

  • Experience working with electrical devices, fragrance systems or small appliances.
  • Knowledge of packaging transport testing and manufacturing processes, including design for blow moulding and injection moulding.
  • Familiarity with design optimisation techniques and parametric modelling.
  • Experience within consumer goods, packaging, product design or related industries.
