Senior React developer
Senior React Developer (Front End)
Location – Sheffield, UK (Hybrid)
About the Role
As a Senior React Developer, you will design, build, and maintain user-facing web applications, creating interactive, accessible, and visually appealing experiences. You will take ownership of frontend architecture and system design, ensuring applications are performant, scalable, secure, and maintainable across browsers and devices.
Key Responsibilities
You will additionally:
- Lead the POD from a frontend perspective.
- Mentor and support junior React developers.
- Drive engineering best practices and frontend standards.
Core Responsibilities
Frontend Development
- Design and develop complex React-based user interfaces.
- Build production-ready applications using React, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, and CSS.
- Develop reusable components and shared UI libraries.
- Enhance and maintain existing applications by:
- Fixing defects,
- Improving layouts,
- Implementing new features.
- Ensure responsive design across desktop and mobile platforms.
- Maintain cross-browser compatibility.
Frontend Architecture
- Own frontend system architecture and technical design.
- Design scalable component architecture.
- Implement efficient state management strategies.
- Optimize:
- Data fetching,
- Caching,
- Application performance.
- Balance:
- Scalability,
- Maintainability,
- Security,
- Accessibility,
- Developer experience.
