About A1

There are over 5 billion users using basic applications today such email, notes, tasks that are not AI-native. Our mission is to build a proactive smart assistant for everyday users to bring intelligence to conversations, errands, organising and workflows, with minimal prompting.

Our product focuses on achieving high reliability for long-running workflows, persistent context, and real-world task completion. The system must handle multi-step reasoning, interact with external tools, and remain reliable despite non-deterministic model behavior. Our objective is to help users complete tasks daily enjoyable with over ~90%* reduced time.

About the Role

You will lead hiring across software engineering functions including backend, mobile, desktop, infrastructure, and product engineering. You will partner closely with founding teams, leadership and engineering leaders to identify and attract high-caliber talent globally.

This role requires strong judgment, speed, sourcing ability, and deep understanding of engineering talent quality beyond resumes and brand names.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Lead end-to-end hiring for applications engineering roles globally
  • Source and engage high-quality software engineering talent across multiple markets
  • Partner closely with hiring managers and founders on hiring strategy and talent calibration
  • Assess candidate quality through career progression, technical depth, and execution signals
  • Drive interview coordination, candidate management, and closing processes
  • Improve recruiting processes, candidate experience, and hiring quality
  • Build strong pipelines for backend, mobile, desktop, and product engineering talent

What You'll Need

  • Proven experience recruiting software engineering talent in technology companies
  • Strong sourcing and talent mapping capability across global markets
  • Good understanding of engineering roles, technical stacks, and organizational structures
  • Ability to identify high-quality talent beyond pedigree and company brands
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management, and candidate engagement ability
  • Comfortable operating in fast-moving and ambiguous environments
  • High ownership and strong execution ability
