The Role
Barrington James is looking for an experienced Senior Recruitment Consultant to join our Kent team and specialise in one of the life sciences industry’s most exciting growth areas across TechBio, Biotech and Pharmaceutical organisations.
This is an opportunity to build and develop relationships across a rapidly evolving global market, partnering with innovative start-ups, scaling businesses and established organisations that are transforming how new medicines are discovered and developed.
Responsibilities
- Developing new business across TechBio, biotech and Pharmaceutical markets
- Building trusted relationships with founders, executives, hiring managers and investors
- Identifying and engaging high-calibre candidates across scientific, technical and commercial functions
- Managing the full recruitment process, from initial brief through to offer and placement
- Providing clients and candidates with informed market insight
- Growing existing accounts while identifying new commercial opportunities
- Representing Barrington James at relevant industry events and conferences
- Supporting and mentoring junior consultants as the team expands

We are looking for someone who can combine strong recruitment fundamentals with genuine curiosity about emerging science and technology.
You will ideally have:
- Proven success in recruitment, executive search or business development
- Possess a growth-mindset, with an opportunity to hyperscale within the group
- A strong record of winning business and managing client relationships
- Confidence engaging with senior stakeholders
- A consultative, credible and commercially focused approach
- The drive to develop a specialist desk in a fast-moving international market
