Senior Recruitment Consultant / Principal Consultant – Office & Operational Support

Location: Harlow, Essex / Bishop’s Stortford, Hertfordshire Company: MMP Consultancy Remuneration: Competitive Salary + Commission + Benefits


About the Role

We’re seeking an experienced and driven Senior Recruitment Consultant / Principal Consultant with a specialist background in Office & Operational Support recruitment to join our expanding team.

This role is ideal for a high-performing recruiter who excels in fast-paced environments, values exceptional client and candidate service, and is passionate about delivering tailored recruitment solutions.

You will:

  • Take full ownership of the recruitment lifecycle within the Office & Operational Support sector.
  • Build, nurture, and retain strong client relationships.
  • Play a key role in mentoring junior consultants, using your sector expertise to drive best practice.

Key Responsibilities

Candidate Sourcing & Management

  • Source high-quality candidates for Office & Operational Support roles through:
    • Job boards
    • Social media
    • Networking
    • Direct advertising
  • Build and maintain long-term candidate relationships, ensuring a positive experience at all stages.
  • Conduct interview assessments and evaluate suitability for relevant support roles.
  • Manage and maintain an active candidate pipeline in CRM systems (preferably Bullhorn).
  • Prepare CV profiles for client submissions.
  • Support candidates through the entire recruitment process, including:
    • Interview preparation
    • Offer negotiation
    • Onboarding assistance

Job & Process Management

  • Match candidates to suitable Office, Administrative, and Operational Support roles, aligning with career goals and experience.
  • Create and publish engaging, sector-specific job adverts.
  • Coordinate scheduling between candidates and hiring firms.
  • Oversee offer negotiations and ensure smooth transitions.
  • Guarantee seamless onboarding for successful placements.

Business Development & Client Relationships

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the Office & Operational Support market.
  • Develop and maintain strong, long-term client relationships, acting as a key point of contact.
  • Deliver exceptional service, including:
    • Attending client meetings, networking events, and industry conferences.
    • Providing expert, solution-focused recruitment advice.
  • Actively grow revenue through consultative selling.

Leadership & Mentoring

  • Mentor and guide trainee consultants to support their development.
  • Share best practices and sector knowledge with the team.
  • Step in for management as required to provide support.

Systems & Compliance

  • Master use of CRM and ATS systems, including Broadbean.
  • Maintain accurate records of all interactions with candidates and clients.
  • Ensure full compliance with industry regulations and company policies.

What We’re Looking For

Essential: ✔ Proven experience as a Recruitment Consultant in Office & Operational Support. ✔ Strong track record in achieving billing targets and consistency. ✔ Proven success in both placements and business development.

Desirable: ✔ Strong communication, negotiation, and organisational skills. ✔ Ability to work independently or as part of a dynamic team. ✔ Comfortable using CRM, job boards, and social media tools. ✔ Ambitious character, resilient mindset, and drive to excel.
