Senior Recruitment Consultant | Manchester | Hybrid

£30,000 - £38,000 Basic | OTE = 45%-50% of your billings

Altech is a Manchester based technology recruitment business. We currently recruit, mainly, across Software Engineering, Product, AI and Transformation (alongside exec search).

After a brilliant first 2 years, we're looking for employee number 8.

We are focused on building the most revered and recognisable tech recruitment brand in the North West.

We would love to find an ambitious recruiter that can help bolster our software dev & tech recruitment capability, and to bring something fresh and new.

Honestly, we know it's a pain moving and starting again, but you are looking for a reason. The things you dislike in your current role, are often mirrored in other businesses (heavy call targets/toxic cultures/limited earning potentials /micromanagement). This is where we differ. We are committed to ensuring that each employee is valued for their contribution to the business, providing a safe environment for you to flourish and develop.

We will ensure that your time, effort and work will be appreciated and we'll operate with full transparency, at all times. All of this will be underpinned by flexibility and the ability to earn large sums of cash.

So what do we offer you?

Money

Most companies will pay you 28-35% of what you bill. We offer 45%-50% depending on your level. Do the maths on your current billings. If you bill £200k with us you would earn a minimum of £90k.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Work life balance

We have a flexible WGH policy. We want to meet up in our Manchester HQ weekly but it will be up to you how that works.

Ownership of your market

We want you to come in and own your own market without competing with your colleagues. If you do the PHP market (for example), that's your market to nurture and earn in. We want you to immerse yourself, build a solid brand and be known as the market expert.

Empowered ways of working

We work to OKRs not KPIs. If you see the value in doing a call do it, if you see the value in emailing do it, if you want to host an event, go on a client meeting or create a podcast we will empower you to do so. We love that everyone thrives in a different way in recruitment. No 2 recruiters need to work in the same way to be a success and we will love that.

A true sense of responsibility

CSR sits at our core and we are focused on ensuring that Altech not only thrives financially, but supports the communities we live and recruit in to.

What do we need?

  • A good billing history with some placements in software dev. Ideally a career total billings of £500k over a few years but we can be open.
  • The ability to run a 360 desk and the history. We are too small to hand you 100s of clients from day 1. We will help and work together but you need the drive to bring in the business. With a track record of new business.
  • Growth mindset. We want people who aspire to lead a business or find financial freedom. Let's continuously learn, develop and grow together.
  • The ability to own accountability: We're a team that want to be successful, not because of highly driven KPIs, but because we all want to make money and progress our careers whilst doing it.

Why you get?

  • We can be flexible on the basic salary but £30k-£38k if you need a ballpark figure.
  • Commission - this is where it gets interesting. 45%-50% of your billings will go in your pocket.
  • Flexible working/hours - Office in Manchester City Centre available.
  • Monthly budget for Physical health (gym, yoga etc).
  • Wellness Days - 4 a year. Take the day to look after your mental health, all paid for.
  • Social - standard in recruitment but lunch clubs, quarterly day out.

We are building something incredible. The journey of a start up recruitment business is daunting, scary yet amazing and positive. You will be one of the founding parts of what will become the most prominent tech recruitment brands in the UK.

We believe in a fairer share of profit distribution and so know that you'll earn more here than you will at most other companies.
