Overview
We are recruiting an In-House Lawyer to join our in-house legal team. You will either be a lawyer working in a large law firm and wish to move to an in-house law firm role or already in a general legal compliance role with a law firm or corporate. Experience of any of the following areas of law would be advantageous: financial crime, employment law, commercial litigation, data and technology, investigations.
The successful candidate will serve as a trusted advisor, providing expert legal support and solutions on a range of regulatory, compliance, professional conduct issues and from time to time support on claims and circumstances. This position requires a proactive individual who can effectively develop projects and handle day-to-day queries from senior stakeholders, including senior management and partners of the firm.

You will join a team of senior lawyers who are Reed Smith's legal team, with day to day reporting to the General Counsel, EMEA.
Responsibilities
- Advising on legal, regulatory and ethical standards applicable to the Firm and its employees.
- Advising on claims, complaints and circumstances.
- Investigating potential conduct issues.
- Designing and implementing compliance systems and procedures.
- Leading global risk management projects.
- Advising on commercial contract risks.
- Developing and rolling out global risk management policies and providing training working with the Learning and Development team to achieve this.
- Actively promote an ethical, inclusive and diverse working environment.

Essential Skills And Experience
- English and Welsh qualified.
- Minimum of 7 years PQE preferably but less experienced lawyers also invited to apply.
- Have previous experience in an international law firm or similar, in either a time keeper or compliance role.
- Strong technical knowledge of legal and regulatory frameworks
- Strong analytical, research and presentation skills
