Senior Relationship Management and Business Development – London (Hybrid)
Location: Hammersmith, London Working Pattern: 2 days in-office, 3 days remote

The Role
Responsible for business development and relationship management across countries, regions, or industries. Your key focus areas include:
- Driving pipeline growth by identifying and cultivating new sales opportunities through networking and strategic relationship-building with industry and FinTech partners.
- Expanding high-value external relationships as the lead Capital One representative, identifying growth opportunities to achieve business targets.
- Increasing transaction volume and revenue by selling new programs (e.g., Prepaid, Credit, Debit).
- Risk and escalation management, resolving customer-impacting issues and escalating them to senior management.
Key Responsibilities
- Account Strategy & Growth
- Translate organisational goals into tailored account plans to capture untapped opportunities.
- Own the end-to-end strategic roadmap for high-value, complex global acquirer partnerships.
- Identify leads, propose solutions, respond to RFPs, and negotiate contracts to maximise network growth.
- Develop business cases for new initiatives with internal (e.g., Risk, AML) and external partners.

Strategic Relationship Liasion
- Act as the primary liaison between Capital One and external clients, maintaining executive-level relationships.
- Secure alignment on strategic priorities and resolve operational challenges.

Client Management & Growth
- Retain and grow a portfolio of clients, ensuring acceptance and transaction volume growth.
- Maintain deep knowledge of partners, industry trends, and competitors via market analysis.

Internal Coordination
- Orchestrate cross-functional teams (Product, Risk, AML, Legal) without direct line management.
- Lead processes such as communications, contract negotiations, and compliance.

Market & Business Development
- Drive transaction volume and revenue growth through strategic insights and selling efforts.
Skills & Experience Required
- Passion for sales and relationship management, with the ability to solve complex business problems.
- Adept at balancing new and existing partnerships, ensuring a steady pipeline of opportunities.
- Hands-on approach involving planning, sales, and implementation.
- Proven ability to influence stakeholders (internal and external) at an executive level.
- Track record of signing high-value partnerships, from planning to execution.
- Experience shifting relationships from transactional to strategic.
- Extensive knowledge of Acquirers, Payment Networks, PSPs (including embedded finance, gateways, Payfacs).
- Strong understanding of the UK/European payment landscape.
