Role Overview: Senior Relationship Manager, Multinationals
The Senior Relationship Manager, Multinationals will:
- Originate and grow Zenith Bank (UK) Limited’s multinationals business through new client acquisition and strategic relationship management.
- Requires expertise in trade finance, credit appraisal, facility structuring, syndications, and core banking disciplines.
- Drive new business across target markets by identifying, developing, and securing client relationships.
- Support the development of tailored products to meet customer needs.
- Manage an asset portfolio and engage with clients operating in home and international markets.

- Client Acquisition & Management
- Identify and develop new clients, while managing relationships with existing ones to originate new transactions.
- Capitalise on cross-selling opportunities to drive the Bank’s business growth.

Account Portfolio Growth
- Maintain high-value, ongoing relationships with designated corporate clients.
- Increase wallet share (business volume) across managed accounts.

Relationship cultivation
- Conduct regular client engagement through visits, meetings, and networking events.

Credit & Documentation
- Lead credit applications and documentation for both existing and prospective facilities.
- Ensure credit files remain accurate, complete, and updated.

Risk & Market Monitoring
- Assess business environment changes for credit risks and opportunities.
- Track market conditions and competitor activity to safeguard market position.

Account & Team Management
- Oversee account opening processes, ensuring efficient documentation and compliance.
- Manage existing relationships and exposure levels.
- Prepare monthly presentations and provide key updates on deal progress.

Regulatory & Compliance
- Adhere to UK regulatory standards (e.g., Treasuring Customers Fairly, KYC, AML).
- Escalate and resolve customer complaints promptly.
- Comply with FCA/PRA Individual Conduct Rules.

Product Development & Internal Collaboration
- Support the design and launch of new banking products.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and Zenith Group subsidiaries.

Training & Professional Development
- Complete mandatory training programs.
- Undertake assigned duties as needed.
Client Experience
- Foster a client-centric culture with high-standard service.
- Promote Zenith Bank’s products and services aligned with customer needs.
- Ensure professional, responsive service aligned with the bank’s values and standards.
Internal Relationship Management
- Strengthen relationships across Zenith Group departments to drive end-to-end client management.
- Proactively engage with internal teams to support business initiatives.
- Play a role in ensuring seamless customer experience and high satisfaction.

Skills, Knowledge & Qualifications
Professional/Technical Experience Required
- Strong relationship-building and negotiation skills
- Expertise in:
- Corporate banking
- Credit & trade finance
- Treasury
- Syndications
- Equities, foreign exchange, liquidity risk management
- Financial analysis and interpretation of complex market data.
- Deep understanding of UK regulatory requirements and compliance.
- Exceptional presentation and marketing skills.
Personal Attributes
- High emotional intelligence and ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Responsible, disciplined, entrepreneurial mindset.
- Adaptability and challenge acceptance to thrive in evolving environments.

Language & Numeracy Proficiency
- Fluent in English (written and spoken).
- At least one additional language (preferably African for Africa trade focus).
- Strong numeric aptitude and financial proficiency.
Experience Criteria
- 8+ years in business development, trade or corporate banking.
- Proven prospecting and relationship-building in European and international markets.
- Credit knowledge and facility structuring expertise.
- Building new product portfolios tailored to client needs.
- Managing client relationships with Nigeria and other African/Eastern regions.
- A track record of stable client retention even post-role transitions.
Academic Qualifications
- Minimum degree-level education.
About the Role
- Job Band: Permanent, up to £95,000.00 per annum, based on experience.
