We are reinforcing our Reliability Engineering function within our global engineering organisation and seek an experienced technically driven _Staff / Senior Staff Reliability Engineer_** to join our team, ensuring product excellence from early definition through production release.
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Reliability Engineer to play a critical role in bringing cutting-edge semiconductor products through the New Product Introduction (NPI) process. You will lead product reliability qualification activities, working with cross-functional engineering teams to:
- Design and execute reliability testing programs
- Analyse and report on qualification data
- Collaborate with design, test, failure analysis, and manufacturing teams to investigate failures, predict lifetime performance, and ensure reliability goals
- Support product validation, customer-driven requirements, and industry standards compliance

Responsibilities

Product Reliability Qualification (20%)
Lead the development and execution of reliability qualification plans for new semiconductor products, process changes, and customer-driven requests. Ensure data analysis and formal technical reporting align with engineering standards.

Failure Investigation & Root Cause Analysis (20%)
Partner with Design, Product Engineering, Test Engineering, and Failure Analysis teams to investigate reliability qualification failures. Identify root causes and recommend corrective actions for product improvements.

Reliability Modelling & Lifetime Calculations (20%)
Perform product reliability modelling, lifetime estimates, and failure mechanism analysis using:
- Stress test data
- Ongoing reliability monitoring data
- Field performance feedback

Test Hardware Development (15%)
Collaborate with Design, Test Engineering, and external vendors to design and develop reliability test boards (e.g., HTOL, HAST board) for qualification testing.

Manufacturing & Quality Support (15%)
Assist Manufacturing Engineering, Operations, and Quality teams in evaluating reliability-related manufacturing issues. Provide technical input for held lot dispositions and process improvements.

Industry Standards & Compliance (10%)
Maintain alignment with evolving semiconductor industry reliability standards (e.g., JEDEC, AEC, ESDA, IPC). Support customer requests regarding qualification data, FIT rates, and reliability inquiries.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in:
- Electrical Engineering
- Electronics Engineering
- Engineering Physics
- Or a closely related discipline
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in Semiconductor Reliability Engineering (senior-level experience considered for Staff+ roles)
- Proven ability to:
- Develop and execute semiconductor reliability qualification plans
- Conduct product lifetime calculations and reliability modelling
- Analyse and document qualification results
- Support NPI and production release activities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional engineering teams
Desired Qualifications
- Advanced knowledge of industry standards:
- JESD47, JEP122, JS-001, JS-002 (AEC-Q100, AEC-Q101, AEC-Q006)
- Deep understanding of:
- Semiconductor fabrication processes
- Die attachment and packaging methodologies
- Semiconductor device physics (MOSFET, BJT, integrated circuit fundamentals)
- Experience with:
- ESD/LU testing tools (e.g., MK1, MK2)
- Failure mechanism identification during reliability testing
- Statistical/data analysis tools (JMP, Minitab, Excel)
- Familiarity with DOE (Design of Experiment) methodologies
- Additional experience in:
- Failure Analysis
- Product Engineering
- Test Engineering
- Quality Engineering
- Applications Engineering
- Wafer Fabrication
- Product Validation
