An opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated Renal Technologist to join Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust as a Senior Renal Technologist Manager.

Our Renal Technical Services department provides specialist technical support across nine hospital and satellite dialysis units, the West London Renal and Transplant Centre, and an expanding Home Haemodialysis service. We maintain a large fleet of dialysis equipment, reverse osmosis water treatment systems and associated infrastructure, ensuring safe, reliable and high-quality treatment for patients across the Trust.

This is an excellent time to join the service as we continue to invest in new dialysis technologies, water treatment infrastructure and service developments. Working closely with the Principal Renal Technologist and the senior technical team, you will support operational leadership, deliver complex technical projects and drive continuous service improvement across multiple sites.

Role Responsibilities

  • Support the operational management and delivery of Renal Technical Services across multiple hospital and satellite dialysis units.
  • Provide specialist technical expertise for the maintenance, repair, validation and performance monitoring of dialysis equipment, reverse osmosis water treatment systems and associated renal medical devices.
  • Lead defined areas of service responsibility, driving service development, quality improvement and technical governance in collaboration with the senior technical team.
  • Support the planning and delivery of equipment replacement programmes, new installations, service developments and capital projects.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, MHRA guidance, ISO standards, manufacturer recommendations and Trust policies.
  • Investigate and resolve technical incidents, equipment failures and water quality concerns, implementing effective corrective and preventative actions.
  • Build strong working relationships with clinical teams, Clinical Engineering, Estates, manufacturers and contractors to ensure safe and efficient service delivery.
  • Provide technical leadership, supervision and mentoring to junior renal technical staff, promoting professional development and high standards of practice.
  • Participate in the departmental on-call rota, providing specialist technical support during emergency situations affecting dialysis equipment and water treatment systems.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
