Role Description
The Senior Reporting Accountant is a full-time, on-site role based in Cardiff. This role is responsible for preparing timely and accurate financial, regulatory, and management reports, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements.

Day-to-day responsibilities include:

- Managing month-end and year-end reporting processes
- Reviewing financial data
- Performing variance analysis
- Providing insight to support strategic decision-making
The Senior Reporting Accountant will collaborate closely with finance, risk, and operational teams, contribute to improvements in reporting systems and controls, and support internal and external audits. The role also involves mentoring team members, maintaining strong documentation, and contributing to forecasting and budgeting activities.
Qualifications
- Strong technical accounting expertise, including experience with financial reporting, regulatory reporting, and management accounts.
- Proficiency in financial analysis, including variance analysis, trend analysis, and interpretation of complex financial data.
- Advanced skills in Excel and financial systems; experience with reporting tools and ERP or general ledger systems.
- Knowledge of relevant accounting standards (e.g., IFRS or UK GAAP) and regulatory frameworks applicable to financial services.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly to non-specialist audiences.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a reporting cycle.
- Relevant professional qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or equivalent experience in a senior accounting or reporting role.
- Experience in financial services or a regulated environment is beneficial, along with an understanding of mutual or member-focused organizations.
